Our Acoustic Louvre Range
Premium Acoustic Louvres for Noise Control and Ventilation
At Suntek Aluminium, we specialise in designing and installing acoustic louvres in Sydney that deliver superior noise reduction without compromising airflow or aesthetics. Whether you’re working on a commercial, industrial, or residential project, our acoustic louvre systems provide an effective solution for managing sound while maintaining optimal ventilation.
What Are Acoustic Louvres?
Acoustic louvres are engineered systems that reduce noise transmission while allowing air to pass through. They’re ideal for applications where sound control and ventilation are critical, such as:
Plant rooms and mechanical equipment enclosures
Car parks and basements
Generator and pump enclosures
HVAC systems and air intake/exhaust areas
Data centres and commercial buildings
At Suntek Aluminium, our louvres are manufactured using high-quality aluminium, ensuring long-term durability and weather resistance in the harsh Sydney climate.

Applications of Acoustic Louvres
Suntek Aluminium’s acoustic louvres are suited for:
Commercial buildings: Reduce noise from rooftop equipment and mechanical systems.
Industrial sites: Contain sound from generators, compressors, and heavy machinery.
Residential complexes: Maintain peace in high-density areas with discreet noise barriers.
Infrastructure projects: Ideal for road tunnels, substations, and utility buildings.
Acoustic Louvres vs Standard Louvres
Unlike standard aluminium louvres, acoustic louvres are specifically designed to block and absorb sound. They feature:
Internal sound-dampening materials
Deeper blade profiles for acoustic performance
Higher STC (Sound Transmission Class) ratings
If you need a solution that balances airflow and sound attenuation, acoustic louvres are the best choice.

Type 1/300 Acoustic Louvre
Type 1/300 Acoustic Louvre – Suntek aluminium Australia
This is a factory assembled half chevron acoustic louvre. The following Noise Reduction levels (in dB) were recorded during testing:
|
This acoustic louvre provides a moderate level of weather protection. The design, angle and length of blade limit water ingression. Water drains via the sill.
ONE STAGE Acoustic Louvres
Product shall be Suntek – Type 1 Acoustic Louvre available in modular form. The louvre consists of a single blade chevron design. Materials include Colorbond or Aluminium perforated Zincalume acoustic rated noise absorptive blade infill.
Modules are manufactured at 1500mm to 2400mm span centres for strength and support. Louvre shall perform to required specifications for noise and weather reduction. Finish is to be in Aluminum powder coated, or Colorbond standard colour Zincalume perforated at the back .
Type 2/600 Acoustic Louvre
Type 2/600 Acoustic Louvre
Factory assembled, high performance, half chevron Acoustic Louvre. The following Noise Reduction levels (in dB) were recorded during testing
|
The product is made up of a combination of materials. Perforated blades, Aluminium, Colorbond or Zincalume components with acoustic rated absorptive blade infill material. Maximum span of each module should not exceed 1500mm to 2400mm dependent on terrain conditions.
WEATHERABILITY
The acoustic louvre provides a high level of weather protection for a single stage louvre. The design, angle and length of blade limit water ingression. Water drains via the sill.
Acoustic Performance
The Type 2/600 will provide a high level of noise reduction. Please see above insertion loss test results for performance.
VENTILATION PERFORMANCE
Free area ranges between 17% (2 blades) to 24% (7 blades) depending on height and width of the louvre.
Performance Data
OPENING SIZES
Where louvres are to be installed into steelwork, allow 3mm clearance all round the louvre. Where louvres are to be installed into brickwork, allow 6mm clearance all round the louvre.
LOUVRE WIDTHS
Louvre widths are available from 500mm to a maximum of 2400mm. Where larger openings are involved, use multiples of suitably sized units.
FREE INLET AREA AND PRESSURE DROP
In the design of any ventilation system, the pressure drop through the louvres is one of the critical performance considerations and louvre free area is not meaningful in itself.
HC305 Acoustic Louvre
THIS IS A FACTORY ASSEMBLED HALF CHEVRON ACOUSTIC LOUVRE.
The following Noise Reduction levels (in dB) were recorded during testing:
The product can be manufactured from Aluminium, Colourbond or Zincalume and finished in a colour to suit requirements. Louvre widths are available from 500mm up to a maximum of 2000mm. Where larger openings are involved use multiples of suitably sized equal units.Where louvres are installed into steelwork, allow 3mm clearance all around the louvre.
Where louvres are installed into masonry, allow 6mm clearance all around the louvre.
Weatherability
The louvre provides a moderate level of weather protection. There is a single water channel at top of each blade. The design, angle and length of blade limit water ingression which is drained via the sill.
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
The HC305 will provide good noise reduction. Please see above insertion loss test results for perfor
VENTILATION PERFORMANCE
Free area ranges between 33% (2 blades) to 59% (15 blades) depending on height and width of the louvre.
